Electronics Laboratory Technician

Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electronics Laboratory Technician with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology to join our team as a in the beautiful mountains of NC!

This Lab Technician position focuses on supporting electrical engineering functions, including troubleshooting, programming, and testing of innovative power electronics software functionality that solve real-world problems in the realm of efficient power conversion for high power and low power devices.

This position is responsible for designing development tests, creating and managing test fixtures, operating and maintaining electronic test equipment, technical analysis of test results, reading schematics and debugging electronic prototype products.

Ideal candidate will have experience in AC-DC, DC-AC, and DC to DC power conversion for ground and air defense systems, operational knowledge of data / telecommunications and embedded computing applications, and electronic repair and maintenance skills.

He / she should be a self-starter, drawing on proven field experience to test and debug complete end-to-end power electronics embedded firmware solutions.

The Electronics Lab Technician should be creative, self-motivated, organized, and visionary.

The best candidate will be a team-player with good verbal and written English communication skills.

Cross-team functionality is imperative as this position will be working with engineering, manufacturing, marketing, and support departments.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

• Perform Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) testing and operate advanced test equipment such as oscilloscopes and related devices.
• Troubleshoot and develop test systems using LabVIEW.
• Conduct functional testing and utilize soldering tools to diagnose and repair circuit issues.
• Interpret and analyze circuit boards and electrical schematics.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement effective testing protocols.Maintain, calibrate, and ensure the accuracy of laboratory test equipment.
• Document test procedures, results, and provide comprehensive reports to engineering stakeholders.
• Develop, implement, and maintain automated test systems using LabVIEW.
• Identify and resolve issues related to test systems and equipment.
• Prepare technical documentation for engineered systems to support both internal teams and external clients.
• Create technical reports and presentations for team or customers Other duties as assigned Skills and Competencies Exceptional  problem-solving abilities  and keen attention to detail.

• Proactive, innovative, and adaptable approach to engineering challenges Required Education & Experience Bachelors in Electrical Engineering Technology, or similar technical field. 3+ years of experience in a test engineering role, preferably with a focus on power electronics.
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW for test automation.
• Experience with test equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and electronic loads.
• Familiarity with industry standards for power electronics testing (e.g., UL, IEC).
• Strong ability to understand engineering documents and schematics.
