Job Overview
The Data Governance Foundation Sr. Group Manager is a senior level role managing a team responsible for facilitating all aspects of the Enterprise Data Governance Strategy, and / or Data Risk and Control Framework and Data Risk Taxonomy. This role is responsible for defining the enterprise data governance strategy and / or Data Risk and Controls framework and roadmap, including alignment with related enterprise-wide and business / function / region data governance documentation. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication / negotiation may be necessary.
Responsibilities :
- Liaise with business / function / regional partners to understand and align Data Governance, and / or Data Risk and Control related work
- Manage and lead Data Governance, and / or Data Risk and Control, policy, practices, and standards including industry best practices
- Drive progress, and provide guidance for adherence and continued development of enterprise-wide guiding policies, practices and standards
- Develop materials to effectively and concisely articulate progress on the Data Governance strategy and / or Data Risk and Control framework for senior leadership and regulatory updates
- Liaise with metrics team to articulate clear requirements for objective measures necessary to support Data Governance storylines with key stakeholders Participate in governance councils / management forums to provide reporting on risk data execution
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
- Liaise regularly with regulatory bodies and internal audit teams to close / review key regulatory commitments Collaborate with senior management and other stakeholders to integrate risk data insights into strategic decision-making
Qualifications :
15+ years of experience in a complex, financial organization, with a particular focus in Data Governance8+ years relevant experience in Banking, Financial Services,8+ years managerial experience leading cross-functional teams8+ years experience in large-scale, multi-year transformation and capability building efforts5+ years experience with Data Governance and transformation5+ years with Enterprise Data Governance Strategy, and / or Data Risk and Control Framework and Data Risk Taxonomy.2+ years experience with RegulatorsExpertise in one or more the following core financial services segments preferred : consumer businesses, commercial businesses, capital markets, finance, risk, or complianceStrategic mindset, with ability to foresee future possibilities and translate them into breakthrough strategiesCommunicates effectively, develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences; able to drive consensus, and influence relationships at all levelsCan effectively lead change in an organization with Citigroup's size, scale and complexity; Experience leveraging the processes and principles of change management to drive organizational change, defining change criteria, providing support and education, managing resistance, and measuring outcomesManage through ambiguity by making sense of complex, high quantity and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problemsPromotes a culture of collaboration and teamwork across organizations; and demonstrates effective work relationships with business and global function colleaguesExperience creating and executing against frameworks that improve the quality and value of data to meet regulatory commitments and enhance risk management. Bachelor's / University degree, or equivalent work experience (Master's degree is a plus)
