POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for supporting the Store Manager regarding all aspects of the retail store including sales, customer service, operations, human resources, training, visual merchandising, loss prevention
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Service
- Ensures each customer receives the highest level of customer service
Human Resources
Notifies the Store Manager of hiring needs / floor coverage shortageAssist Store Manager in finding new employeesUnderstands and communicates Company discount policyAssists Store Manager in controlling payroll budgetSchedules staff efficientlyAssists Store Manager with staff schedulingUnderstands progressive discipline proceduresFollows corrective action process fairly and follows company policies and procedures and documents corrective action issues in appropriate formStays constantly aware of loss preventionShares ideas received from staff and customers with the Store ManagerUnderstands the details of upcoming promotionsMakes deposits correctly and ensures paperwork is accurateKnow correct opening and closing proceduresKnows correct procedure for reconciling cash drawer with register tapeFollows correct procedures for issuing refundsDocuments petty cash, safe moneyEnsures accuracy regarding merchandise that is received and shippedConducts regular spot checks on store inventoryEnsures that displays are clean and currentEnsures selling floor is maintained, organized, and set to company guidelinesManage the daily activity of the sales floor, backroom, and cash register area according to company policyKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
