Job Summary :
The Vice President of Engineering Services is responsible for managing the financial performance, operational efficiency, and client satisfaction of the business unit. This role involves direct accountability for profit and loss, ensuring the profit center meets its revenue targets and delivers top-tier services. The Vice President will lead strategic staffing, client relationship management, and keep the business at the forefront of the competitive landscape. The ideal candidate must exhibit strong leadership, in-depth industry knowledge, and a proactive approach to resolving business and technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities :
- Qualifying Agent for Company : Oversee the overall technical work to ensure quality of deliverables; ensure department activities comply with applicable internal and external regulations, standards, policies, and procedures; and seal reports after field inspections are performed.
- Profit & Loss Management : Oversee the financial health of the business unit, meeting revenue, profit, and gross margin targets.
- Budget Management : Maintain and manage budgets, closely monitoring expenditures and optimizing cost-efficiency.
- Operational Oversight : Monitor operations and performance metrics to ensure gross margins are achieved, making necessary adjustments to ensure goals are met.
- Client Relationship Management : Build and maintain strong client relationships, managing escalations and ensuring high client satisfaction.
- Team Leadership : Develop and strategically staff the team, ensuring the right expertise is in place to meet business goals.
- Compliance & Industry Leadership : Stay updated on relevant building codes, ensuring compliance and thought leadership in the industry.
- Issue Resolution : Proactively identify operational and financial challenges, implementing effective solutions to optimize business unit performance.
- Strategic Planning : Work with executive leadership to define and execute growth strategies, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) :
Revenue Growth : Achieve or exceed annual revenue targets (target : 10% growth year-over-year).Profit Margins : Maintain gross profit margins of 63%, adjusting operations as necessary to preserve profitability.Client Satisfaction : Maintain client satisfaction (develop strategy for monitoring client satisfaction).Operational Efficiency : Ensure on-time delivery of projects and services, with a target of 90% project completion within deadline.Staff Utilization Rate : Maintain a staff utilization rate of 85% or higher, ensuring the team is effectively deployed on client projects.New Business Development : Drive new business growth, with a target of securing 20% of revenue from new clients or services.Cost Control : Maintain operational costs within 5% variance of budgeted expectations.Qualifications
Qualifications :
State of Florida Professional Engineer License (PE)Proven experience managing profit and loss, driving revenue growth, and maintaining operational excellence.In-depth understanding of building codesExcellent leadership, communication, and client management skills.Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to solving business and technical challenges.Ability to lead through change, foster innovation, and inspire team performance.Must have 10 years minimum of construction experience.
