Job description

We are hiring a Full-Time Medical Assistant in Springfield, VA

As a Medical Assistant, you'll support our physicians with both clinical and administrative responsibilities, gaining hands-on experience and mentorship across our high-volume podiatry offices. If you're dependable, eager to learn, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to meet you!

Medical Assistant Essential Functions / Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned) :

Patient Care & Clinical Support

  • Greet and room patients, take vitals, update EMRs
  • Assist doctors with in-office procedures : wart removal, nail care, diabetic shoe fittings, and minor surgeries
  • Apply DME, dressings, and strappings per physician instructions
  • Take digital X-rays and manage specimen collection
  • Educate patients on post-care instructions and answer questions

Administrative Duties

  • Support prescription requests, insurance authorizations, and patient follow-ups
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and confidentiality at all times
  • Clinic Operations

  • Prep and clean exam rooms, manage back-office supplies
  • Sterilize instruments and maintain inventory logs
  • Assist with opening and closing clinic procedures
  • Medical Assistant Required Skills and Experience :

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of accredited MA program OR 1+ year of relevant clinical experience
  • Familiarity with EMR systems and Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy practices
  • Ability to travel between local office locations, as needed
  • CMA or RMA preferred
