Contract Materials Manager – Drive Q1 Recovery & Planning Strategy
Location : Louisville, KY
Pay : $130k–$140k (W2 Long-Term Contract)
We’re hiring a Materials Manager to lead Q1 recovery efforts and drive strategic improvements in production planning and materials management for a Tier 1 automotive supplier. This is a long-term contract opportunity based on-site in Louisville, KY .
This role requires hands-on leadership in recovering Ford Q1 certification , streamlining inventory control, and managing production scheduling to ensure uninterrupted customer delivery and compliance with OEM standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead recovery of Q1 certification and ensure compliance with Ford-specific material and delivery standards
- Direct all materials, inventory, scheduling, and shipping functions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Supervise a cross-functional team : Master Scheduler, Material Analyst, Customer Service Analyst, and Warehouse Supervisor
- Monitor and update customer systems / portals (including Ford systems) to avoid delivery disruptions
- Issue and manage weekly production schedules and coordinate with suppliers
- Own material control documentation, cycle counts, physical inventory, and reconciliation activities
- Identify and implement planning and inventory strategies to reduce waste and improve material flow
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Operations, and Customer Service
- Maintain hourly payroll through internal systems
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field8+ years of materials leadership experience in a manufacturing settingProven success managing Q1 certification and OEM logistics systems (especially Ford)Strong background in production planning, inventory accuracy, and ERP toolsAPICS CPIM or CSCP certification preferred
