Mid-Level Desk Appraiser

Join The Generals growing team as an experienced Desk Appraiser, creating virtual repair estimates and collaborating with customers and shops for speedy, accurate repairs

This position is NOT available for remote work. Associates in the role will be staffed via the hybrid work model out of the following offices; Stevens Point, WI; Madison, WI; Davenport, IA; or Nashville, TN.

The focus of this role is conducting inspections on auto damage to prepare and review repair estimates. Additionally, youll :

Evaluate items such as labor costs, part prices, and repair services to ensure estimates are accurately completed and fairly priced.

Evaluate claim damages and calculate actual cash values for damaged items that may be beyond repair by reviewing items such as accurate conditioning, options, mileage, refurbishments, and unrelated prior damage to ensure cost of repairs do not exceed replacement cost

Communicate with repair facilities and / or external vendors to negotiate pricing and come to an agreement on required repairs. Reinspect and negotiate supplemental damages with external contacts when additional repairs are uncovered, ensuring all claims are brought to a fair and equitable conclusion

Communicate with customers to schedule inspections, explain repair estimates, answer questions, and / or provide information throughout the repair process

What it Takes

Ability to obtain and maintain state specific property and casualty claims licensing as required

Solid knowledge and understanding of each phase of the claim handling process, or other equivalent knowledge.

Solid knowledge and understanding of policies and endorsements related to casualty coverages, or other equivalent knowledge.

Demonstrated experience handling moderately complex claims, or other equivalent experience.

Demonstrated experience handling 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims across our operating territories, or other equivalent experience.

Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.

Strongly preferred to have solid knowledge and understanding of estimating automobiles.
