Job Description

Job Title : Speech Language Pathologist

Profession : SLP

Shift : Monday-Friday with rotating weekends

Hours per Shift : 8 hours, 0800-1630

Experience : Minimum of 2 years

License : Required

Certifications : BLS

Must-Have :

Bedside swallow evaluations

Evaluations for discharge planning

Implementing treatment sessions including swallowing therapy

Language and communication training

Cognitive assessments

Patient and family education on dysphagia precautions and modified diets

Description :

A highly engaged and collaborative therapy team is in place.

Team members include physical therapists, occupational therapists, and rehabilitation aides.

The therapy team has a diverse skill set.

It consists of both newer clinicians and highly experienced clinicians.

Common diagnoses include neurological, cardiac, critical care, medical, surgical, oncology, pulmonary, and orthopedics.

The setting is acute inpatient rehabilitation.

The daily caseload involves treating approximately 8-10 patients.

The role requires covering various patient needs including swallowing and language assessments.

A requirement includes a commitment to 1 weekend shift per month.

Holiday shifts are also required.

The dress code allows for any color or print scrubs or business casual attire, with closed-toed shoes.
