Travel Nurse RN - Dialysis - $2,470 per week in Bronx, NY

License : Required Certifications : BLS, ACLS Must-Have : Must have experience in administering dialysis to acute and chronic patients. Description : Department : Dialysis This role involves administering dialysis to patients in various settings, including a dialysis suite, ER, ICU, and CCU. Travelers will mainly administer bedside dialysis and must be comfortable working independently. The dialysis suite sees approximately 12 patients per day. Bedside Dialysis RNs care for approximately 9-10 patients on average. Each dialysis session lasts approximately 3 hours, with a maximum individual workload of 3 patients per day. Common diagnoses include acute and chronic renal failure in adults. Tasks include cannulation and de-cannulation of fistulas and dialysis catheters. RNs will be responsible for testing and maintaining dialysis machines, administering dialysis, and disinfecting equipment between patients. The equipment used includes Fresenius and Portable WRH machines. Shifts are scheduled in advance, and flexibility to fill gaps in permanent staffing is requested. Every other Saturday is required for weekend shifts. There are no holiday requirements or standby duties for this position. Float requirements involve administering inpatient dialysis throughout the facility. Scrub color will be royal blue. No medical assistants or CNAs are employed at this time.
