$2,026 per week

About The Position

Job Title : Physical Therapist Assistant

Profession : Rehabilitation Therapy

Specialty : Physical Therapy Assistant

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Day Shift

Hours per Shift : 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM

Experience : Minimum of 4 years, with inpatient experience required

License : Credentialed by the state Physical Therapy Board

Certifications : Current instruction in BLS required

Must-Have : Inpatient experience

Description :

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will work as part of a team to provide physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of a physical therapist.

The PTA will implement selected components of patient / client interventions (treatment).

They will obtain data related to the interventions provided.

The PTA will make modifications in selected interventions to progress the patient / client as directed by the physical therapist or to ensure patient / client safety and comfort.

PTAs assist in the treatment of individuals of all ages, from newborns to the elderly, who have medical problems or health-related conditions that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities in daily life.

Patient care is provided in inpatient, outpatient, and home health settings.

The Physical Therapist Assistant reports directly to the Rehabilitation Manager.

Mental demands include astute communication skills with employees, physicians, visitors, administration, and the public.

The PTA must be able to adjust to job situations that involve many different people and projects, requiring some independent action and judgment.

Physical demands include the ability and competency to operate the equipment relevant to the position.

The PTA must perform technical procedures, speak intelligently and professionally before others, and exercise supervision and management skills.

Candidates must be graduates of and have certificates from accredited Physical Therapist Assistant programs.

Bi-lingual capabilities are helpful.

Working environment is a clean, well-lighted, heated, and air-conditioned rehabilitation gymnasium.

Exposure to unpleasant sights, smells, and infectious diseases is possible.
