Schedule / Hours : Full-time evening shifts, 8 or 10 hours, Monday to Friday. Call approximately 5-8 slots overnight and 1-2 weekend call slots within an 8-week schedule. Call hours may vary based on staffing, with a requirement to arrive within 30 minutes.
Key Responsibilities :
Ensure a clean, safe, and efficient environment for optimal patient care by utilizing aseptic surgical techniques in preparation for surgeries.Assist in various surgical procedures, maintaining a comprehensive understanding of different procedures.Oversee the environmental safety and efficiency of the operating room, setting up equipment and returning it post-procedure.Serve as a Second Assistant when necessary and report any supply or equipment issues.Transport patients and equipment as needed while adhering to proper lifting techniques.Maintain specialty carts and check readiness for equipment use.Demonstrate knowledge and skills related to age-specific patient care.Qualifications :
Licensure, Registration, and Certification : Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association is required within 6 months.Education : Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.Experience : No prior experience required.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Familiarity with aseptic surgical techniques, excellent customer service skills, and basic computer proficiency.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and stressful environment.Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs from the floor to waist and 20 lbs overhead.Must be able to push / pull with 30 lbs of force and perform sliding transfers of up to 150 lbs with assistance.Exposure to various hazards, including mechanical, electrical, and biological.Routine use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks, gloves, and goggles is required.This job description provides a general overview of the responsibilities and expectations for this role and may be subject to change based on the needs of the organization.
