Job Description
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for delivering patient care services to residents and will function within the scope of practice according to the Mississippi State Board of Nursing. The LPN assists in evaluating and modifying resident care plans. The LPN collaborates with all clinical staff and providers, communicating patient care information to residents and their families.
Responsibilities
Assess resident needs, plans and modifies care, and implements interventions
Assures daily accurate, concise reporting and documentation of resident condition and needs
Qualifications
Required Qualifications :
Education : Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
Licensure : Current MS LPN license or MS 90-day temporary permit, or Compact state LPN license.
Experience : None.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities : Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact or educate residents. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, clinical staff and providers. Ability to work independently as well as lead a team. Knowledge of nursing practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in the long-term care facility. Knowledge of uses and operations of equipment and instruments used in patient care. Ability to interpret provider or healthcare team's orders and carry them out as requested. Must be resident / customer service oriented, projecting professionalism and socio-economic and cultural sensitivity.
