Job Title : RN - PCU / MS Float Profession : Registered Nurse Specialty : PCU Float Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night Hours per Shift : 12 Experience : Minimum 2 years of experience in clinical skills License : Active state or compact RN license required Certifications : ACLS, BLS Must-Have : Must be comfortable working all PCU and MS units. EPIC experience required. Background includes telemetry and stepdown-level care, with cardiovascular experience in pre / post cardiac cath settings. Description : Position requires floating to various units based on staffing needs. Staffing needs are re-evaluated every 4 hours, and floating could happen 2-3 times per shift. May be required to float to inpatient rehab settings. Weekend shifts may be required every other week or consist of 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block. Must work one holiday every 13-week contract. Previous charge experience is preferred. Experience in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration is required. Skilled in central line care, trach management, and non-invasive airway support. Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management. Capable of managing PCA, heparin protocols, and administering IV insulin. Required skills entail dysrhythmias management, telemetry, and rapid response procedures. Patient ratios are typically 5 : 1 in the PCU and 6 : 1 in the med-surg unit. Ability to work with adult and geriatric patient populations is required. Travel experience is beneficial. Must be amenable to work with various interdisciplinary support teams. Compliance with local regulations and standards is expected. All requests for time off must be submitted up front. Candidates residing within a specific radius may not be accepted as travelers.
