Job description

The Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the full lifecycle recruitment process. This role is responsible for assisting with recruitment efforts, managing administrative hiring processes, and serving as a key point of contact for hiring managers and candidates. The Talent Acquisition Specialist contributes to building a strong employer brand through outreach efforts, advertising job opportunities, and creating a positive candidate experience.

The ideal candidate is highly organized and detail-oriented, with a strong foundation in HR practices, particularly recruitment and onboarding. They excel at managing multiple priorities efficiently while ensuring a smooth, positive experience for candidates and hiring managers.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Recruitment - Creates marketable job postings and distributes them across internal and external job boards and platforms. Assists with planning, coordinating, and attending job fairs, career events, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Candidate Screening - Assists with candidate identification, screening, and interviewing processes. Facilitates pre-employment steps including assessments, background checks, and required documentation.
  • Administrative Support - Manages the administrative aspects of recruitment, including reviewing applications, coordinating interviews, scheduling meetings and events, and maintaining accurate reports and records.

Other Responsibilities :

  • Serves as the first point of contact for hiring managers regarding hiring process questions, requisition creation, and interview coordination.
  • Assists applicants with completing job applications by providing troubleshooting support via phone, email, or in person, and answers questions about career opportunities at Cleveland Metroparks.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date employee and recruitment records, including both digital and physical filing systems.
  • Prepares materials and coordinates logistics for recruitment events.
  • Monitors and maintains inventory of recruitment and onboarding supplies.
  • Education and Experience : Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, communications, or related field required. Minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in human resources; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.

    Qualifications :

  • Knowledge of human resource policies, best practices, and programs.
  • Experience screening candidates including evaluating applications, interviewing, and performing pre-employment screenings.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and workflow tracking programs strongly preferred.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, including employees and the general public.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Management skills and strong business acumen, including problem solving, vision, ability to manage multiple programs and meet deadlines, collaboration, leadership, decision making and ability to analyze diverse facts and develop clear and concise reports and recommendations.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Proficiency in software programs including all Microsoft Office programs
