We are boutique, plaintiff's law firm focusing primarily on medical malpractice and nursing home litigation. We are seeking an ambitious attorney to join our dynamic legal team. Experience is a plus but not required. This a great opportunity for an attorney looking to learn, to develop their skills, and get exposure to litigation.
- This can be a hybrid office / remote position for the right candidate.
- About this Position :
- _Overview : _Primary responsibilities will be managing the pre-suit department resolving cases when possible and preparing them for litigation when not.
- _Pre-suit_ : Review potential new cases and clients. Draft, approve, and issue demand letters. Negotiate resolution to cases prior to filing suit when possible while preparing the case for litigation.
- _Litigation_ : Associate will have the opportunity to performs litigation tasks as needed, based on his / her demonstrated capacity.
- _Legal Research / Writing_ : Conduct thorough research on medical procedures, legal issues, and standards of care in support of the firm’s pre-suit and litigation matters. Draft substantive motions as assigned.
- _Client Interaction_ : Provide clients with empathetic, clear, and professional communication explaining the pre-suit and litigation process to them.
- _Case management_ : Manage pre-suit department from initial client contact to settlement or initiation of suit. If assigned to litigate a case : manage cases from filing resolution.
- Qualifications :
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. [Accepting applications from law students pending bar results or licensure]
- Must be licensed to practice law in Arizona or on track to be licensed in 2025.
- _Exceptional writing skills are required_, with an emphasis on good citations and persuasive and logically sound argument.
- Strong interpersonal skills. We litigate cases, and expect our attorneys to be able to charismatically explain complex issues to both clients, opposing counsel, and the courts. Candidates must connect effectively with clients and demonstrate impressive negotiation abilities.
- High ethical standards and commitment to the constitution and client advocacy.
- Proactive problem-solving abilities and a willingness to take initiative.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new legal challenges.
- Passion for medical law and advocacy for those affected by medical negligence.
- Compensation
