Hematology / Oncology Physician

Ongoing Locum Hem / Onc Opportunity in Northern Maine

Coverage Needed : Week of 12 / 6, 12 / 13, 12 / 27, ongoing into 2022

Schedule : M-F, 8 hour days

All Expenses Covered : Housing and Hospital car provided by facility, Malpractice provided by Medical Search International

Location : New Outpatient Cancer Center in Northern Maine

Support Staff : Oncology Nurses, Chemotherapy Infusion Nurses and Patient Navigators

Case Load : 8-10 patients per day

No Call

Key Highlights :

• Any inpatient work, such as a floor consult, would occur during regular business hours.
• Acute patients are transferred to a higher-level facility
• Active, inter-professional tumor board comprised of hematology / oncology, general surgery, imaging, and pathology.
• Adjacent community hospital 12 miles away houses the county s only radiation therapy and PET scanning services.

This is a professionally stimulating environment, with relationships established with the premier Hematology / Oncology group in Maine at the Maine Medical Center, as well as researchers at the Jackson Laboratory and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
