Electrical Hardware Design Engineer

Department : Engineering

Location : Scottsdale, AZ - Onsite

Role Type : Contract

Responsibilities :

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.

Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications :

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES :

We are seeking a CL - Electrical Hardware Design Engineer to join our cross-disciplinary team responsible for designing advanced electronic hardware. You will play a pivotal role in developing new 3U VPX modules that enhance the capabilities and cyber-resilience of mission-critical systems.

You will engage in all program phases, including requirements analysis, schematic capture, routing constraints definition, PCB / PWB routing oversight, and support for manufacturing, integration, testing, and qualification.

We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences : use of lab test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment, experience designing PCBs / PWBs using Siemens Xpedition, and knowledge of VITA / VPX standards including VITA 46 and 65.

  • What sets you apart : Experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other lab test equipment.
  • An understanding of the hardware development process throughout the lifecycle of a program, including design for manufacturing and design for test.
  • Knowledge of Siemens Xpedition for schematic entry, constraint definition, and signal integrity / power integrity analysis.
  • Experience designing PCBs / PWBs, including using advanced materials, packaging techniques, and high-speed interfaces (10G+ Ethernet, PCIe Gen 4+, etc.)
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills, breaking down complex technical problems logically and finding efficient solutions.
  • Cross-disciplinary communication skills, working effectively with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.
  • Team collaboration, offering and receiving feedback constructively.
