Job Title : Practice Director

Location : Charlotte, NC

THE OPPORTUNITY :

The Practice Director will provide clinical services, strategic direction, oversee day-to-day operations and have overall Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility for Southeast Psych (Charlotte). This position is expected to develop strong relationships and promote the reputation of Southeast Psych as the premier center for psychotherapy within the community, promote recruitment and increased retention for clinicians, lead by example, and oversee all administrative staff and functions at the practice. This individual will administratively report to the regional Vice President of Operations and clinically report to and partner closely with the Managing Partner for Southeast Psych to develop and drive the vision for the practice as well as oversight of day-to-day operations. The Practice Director is responsible for administrative support functions, and responsible to lead collaboration with the Managing Partner for clinical matters at the practice

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS :

The ideal Practice Director will balance the achievement of their clinical encounter and case load expectations with the direction and achievement of administrative expectations and tasks. This person will have a demonstrated record of transformational leadership within behavioral health and strong connections in the local community. This position will be the cultural leader in the practice, fostering a high-performance environment that exemplifies the strong values of Southeast Psych and is dedicated to client needs.

  • Demonstrated success in clinical services, administrative, financial, and cultural leadership
  • Required Licensure : Active and unrestricted license as an MD, PsyD (prefer PSYPACT registration, or LCSW in NC.
  • Clinical Experience : Minimum of 5 years providing mental health services, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in Behavioral Health
  • Strong problem-solving skills and high emotional intelligence
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Expertise in change management and growth principles
  • Willingness to work on-site

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Determine the optimal configuration of the administrative team to best support Southeast Psych’s mission and the practice values of Fun, Innovation, Relationship, Excellence (FIRE).
  • Identify, develop, and own nonclinical key performance indicators for the practice, to include provider utilization, office space utilization, provider retention and turnover rates.
  • Develop and implement a plan to drive practice growth through community engagement, working closely with the ARC Business Development team to facilitate client acquisition.
  • Manage expenses, support ARC in generation of the 2026 budget, and ensure financial performance of the practice meets or exceeds budgeted expectations.
  • Areas of oversight include :

  • Administrative staff recruiting and hiring, payroll, schedule, job functions and performance. Support on / offboarding, performance management, improvement plans and terminations, if necessary.
  • Community relations, including requests for presentations or services from clinical or administrative staff.
  • Workflow essentials for practice efficiency : Communication, vendor relations, administrative processes for client services. These may include processes and improvements related to :

  • General office activities, space allocation, scheduling, purchases, and upkeep or repair of office spaces.
  • Client relations, intake, insurance paperwork, scheduling, and payments including support for coordination between clinicians and crisis response. Support individual and group therapy activities.
  • Electronic health records system and technology support, maintenance of office equipment, including any physical file handling or equipment management.
