Job descriptionMinimum 2 years of Telemetry nursing experience required May float to Med-Surg unit as needed Must be able to read cardiac rhythm strips Accepts first-time travelers Required certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIH Patient population includes adolescents through geriatrics Average patient census : 36; 36 rooms / beds Nurse to patient ratio : 1 : 4 Every other weekend coverage required; no on-call requirements Uniform : Royal Blue scrubs Must be able to work in Telemetry and receive general Med-Surg and moderate orthopedic surgical patients (including total joint ortho) Required cardiac monitoring / emergency response skills : Dysrhythmia interpretation and management Telemetry (on-unit and remote monitoring) Rapid Response Team participation Required cardiovascular skills : Post-cardiac angiogram care Post-MI care Pre / Post cardiac cath and cardiac surgery care Required IV therapy / phlebotomy skills : Blood product administration Central line and PICC line management Starting IVs Required medication skills : Heparin protocol management Management of cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) Required respiratory / thoracic skills : Chest tube (Emerson / Pleuravac) management External CPAP / BiPAP High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) Nasal cannula and oxygen masks Non-invasive airway management Tracheostomy management No requested time off (RTO) allowed during the first two weeks of the assignment All RTO must be submitted with application and cannot be changed except to cancel 13-week contract duration
