Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

This role serves as a key position in the NBCU Local finance department. This role will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day, cyclical and ad hoc financial responsibilities and requires an understanding of accounting / finance and the ability to partner with multiple business units, FP&A, and Local Stations. The Senior Analyst reports to the Director of FP&A, Local.

A key player in NBCUniversal's strategic and financial planning processes and their tactical implementation (Budget, monthly estimates, Pacing, etc.)

• Support monthly and quarterly closing processes (e.g., analyze departmental expenses, calculate required accruals, create journal entries, and take lead to ensure all expenses are captured and stated properly)
• Assist in monthly forecasting and managing operational expenses in partnership with the leadership team
• Assist in the preparation of annual budget, estimates, and long-range plan
• Assist with internal management reporting - P&L, Close Package, Headcount
• Resolve vendor setup and payment issues - act as liaison with Accounts Payable team
• Track spending against budget and partner with the various operators to ensure spending remains within approved limits
• Own the processes for 3rd party revenue share, distribution expense, programming expense and amortization schedules
• Ad hoc variance analysis and projects

Desired Characteristics

This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the New York, NY office a minimum of three days per week. Beginning January 5, 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
