Commercial Lending Coordinator

The Heavy Equipment Ag Technology Instructor provides subject matter expertise in diesel engines and heavy equipment systems relevant to agricultural and construction industries. The successful candidate will train students in the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of gas and diesel-powered machinery, including tractors, backhoes, bulldozers, forklifts, and more. This role supports the development of service and repair technicians in agricultural, industrial, and construction environments.

This position requires a blend of hands-on teaching, curriculum development, industry partnership, and student mentorship. The instructor will deliver high-quality, relevant instruction aligned with workforce needs and industry standards. Responsibilities include program planning, course delivery, equipment maintenance, student assessment, community engagement, and compliance with institutional and CTE guidelines.

This role requires or will require qualification for an Idaho Career-Technical Postsecondary teaching credential.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Teach a full course load in topics such as diesel engine operation and repair, agricultural machinery systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, powertrains, and equipment diagnostics.
• Provide hands-on instruction in the service and operation of farm and construction equipment : tractors, loaders, combines, dozers, forklifts, skid steers, and excavators.
• Utilize multiple teaching modalities including in-person, hybrid, and virtual platforms (e.g., Canvas and Zoom).
• Maintain instructional equipment and ensure a safe, efficient lab environment.
• Develop and continuously improve curriculum to align with industry practices and student needs.
• Support program review, outcomes assessment, and instructional documentation.
• Assist with student advising, retention efforts, and workforce placement in collaboration with industry partners.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain relevant industry certifications.
• Complete all administrative duties including, but not limited to, entering attendance, drop for no show, summary of student evaluations at the end of each semester, uploading syllabi to the central repository, etc., and following campus-wide or department-level policies and procedures.
• Build and sustain industry relationships for student internships, recruitment, and advisory input.
• Host and participate in 2 technical advisory committee meetings each academic year
• Attend campus meetings, contribute to faculty initiatives, and support departmental operations.
• Travel occasionally for field trips, dealer visits, or recruitment events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions :

Travel is required for professional development, industry outreach, and recruitment. The successful applicant will work directly with program students in classrooms, laboratories, and supervised work experience environments. The position requires regular moving, staging, and repairing heavy equipment or demonstrative aids (axles, transmissions, hydraulic parts), using related diagnostic tools, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
