Overview :

We are seeking a Database Marketing Manager to own our overarching MarTech infrastructure, ensuring efficiency in marketing execution and accessible performance reporting. The ideal candidate is a highly technical operations professional with a strong understanding of marketing goals, processes, and data-focused requirements.

The Marketing Database Manager will oversee the management, integration, and optimization of our marketing databases. This role is key to ensuring our marketing team has access to high-quality, segmented, and actionable data to improve campaign performance, customer targeting, and overall marketing effectiveness. You will work closely with the marketing, sales, and Ops teams to ensure seamless integration of data systems and contribute to data-driven decision-making processes.

Responsibilities :

Database Management :

  • Design, manage, and maintain marketing databases, ensuring they are organized, structured, and easily accessible.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources (CRM, sales data, email platforms, social media) into a unified system to enable better reporting and decision-making.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for data input, organization, and storage.
  • Integrate marketing database with marketing execution tools for real-time access to all available data to ensure audience and customer list accuracy and maximize marketing attribution coverage.

Data Quality and Integrity :

  • Conduct regular data audits and data cleaning to ensure the accuracy and reliability of marketing data.
  • Work with the marketing team to ensure consistent, accurate, and up-to-date data across all platforms.
  • Validate data for integrity and eliminate errors, duplicates, or outdated information.
  • Customer Segmentation and Targeting :

  • Develop customer segments based on demographics, behaviors, and other relevant data to optimize targeted marketing campaigns.
  • Use customer insights to help marketing and sales teams design tailored campaigns that align with specific customer needs.
  • Provide detailed reports on customer behavior, preferences, and trends to guide campaign strategies.
  • Campaign Support and Reporting :

  • Collaborate with marketing teams to support campaign planning and execution through data-driven insights.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, providing actionable insights and recommendations to improve ROI.
  • Design and generate dashboards and reports that track KPIs, such as lead generation, CPL, conversion rates, customer engagement, and revenue generation.
  • Tool Management and Optimization :

  • Oversee and manage marketing tools and platforms (CRM, MAP, analytics tools) to ensure they are used effectively and optimally.
  • Analyze tools for redundancy and inefficiencies to recommend upgrades and improvements.
  • Manage tool access to minimize over-licensing while allowing for optimal access for users
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams :

  • Work closely with operations, support, and sales teams to ensure seamless integration between systems and alignment of data strategies.
  • Support the sales team by providing insights and customer data to assist in lead nurturing and closing deals.
  • Compliance and Data Privacy :

  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (such as GDPR and CCPA) in the management and storage of customer data.
  • Develop and enforce policies for data access, security, and retention to ensure the protection of sensitive information.
  • Required Skills & Qualifications (must-haves) :

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, data analytics, business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing data management, database administration, or a similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in using CRM systems (Salesforce, Dynamics 365, etc.), marketing automation tools (Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement, FKA Pardot), and analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Power BI, etc.).
  • Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to analyze and manipulate large datasets.
  • Experience with segmentation, targeting, and reporting in a marketing context.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with various departments.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to turn complex data into actionable insights.
  • Knowledge of data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA) and best practices for data management.
  • Preferred Skills & Qualifications (nice-to-haves) :

  • Experience working in a Microsoft reseller or VAR environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL or other querying languages.
  • Experience with campaign reporting and optimization in a B2B context.
