Job descriptionWork in a CVICU within a short-term acute care hospital setting Mixed-acuity unit caring for cardiovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, cardiology, endocrine, and oncology patients Primary populations include post-CABG, TAVR, SAVR, MVR, VATS, and flex acuity from Med / Surg, progressive, and ICU ICU ratios typically 1 : 2; rare higher ratios up to 1 : 3-4 in special circumstances Use of telemetry and private rooms equipped with overhead lifts Night shifts, 4x12 hours (19 : 00-07 : 30), every other weekend required Floating required within scope throughout hospital and to affiliate hospitals Patient care involves advanced monitoring and post-surgical interventions Cerner EMR utilized; experience preferred Responsibilities include comprehensive care for high-acuity cardiovascular and surgical patients Must work two out of three major holidays as part of RTO restrictions Team-based environment with opportunities to care for diverse patient types Pre-start modules must be completed prior to first shift Dress code is black bottoms and red tops Free parking is provided on-site First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment Active IN or compact RN license in hand at time of application Minimum of 18 months recent RN experience in relevant settings Current ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program Demonstrated skill with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Experience with post-cardiac surgery, CABG, TAVR, arterial lines, blood product administration, central / PICC line care, and titrating cardiac / vasoactive drips Preferred experience with IABP, ventricular assist devices, care of ventilated patients, and cardiac interventions Previous charge nurse experience is preferred Not accepting local candidates for ICU roles Perm or PRN employees of this health system must be gone at least 12 months before reapplying as a traveler High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
