American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position requiring an active IN or compact license, with care spanning mixed ICU and progressive care patients.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a CVICU within a short-term acute care hospital settingMixed-acuity unit caring for cardiovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, cardiology, endocrine, and oncology patientsPrimary populations include post-CABG, TAVR, SAVR, MVR, VATS, and flex acuity from Med / Surg, progressive, and ICUICU ratios typically 1 : 2; rare higher ratios up to 1 : 3-4 in special circumstancesUse of telemetry and private rooms equipped with overhead liftsNight shifts, 4x12 hours (19 : 00-07 : 30), every other weekend requiredFloating required within scope throughout hospital and to affiliate hospitalsPatient care involves advanced monitoring and post-surgical interventionsCerner EMR utilized; experience preferredResponsibilities include comprehensive care for high-acuity cardiovascular and surgical patientsMust work two out of three major holidays as part of RTO restrictionsTeam-based environment with opportunities to care for diverse patient typesPre-start modules must be completed prior to first shiftDress code is black bottoms and red topsFree parking is provided on-siteFirst-time travelers are accepted for this assignment\n \n Requirements\n
Active IN or compact RN license in hand at time of applicationMinimum of 18 months recent RN experience in relevant settingsCurrent ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIHSS preferredGraduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing programDemonstrated skill with interpretation and management of dysrhythmiasExperience with post-cardiac surgery, CABG, TAVR, arterial lines, blood product administration, central / PICC line care, and titrating cardiac / vasoactive dripsPreferred experience with IABP, ventricular assist devices, care of ventilated patients, and cardiac interventionsPrevious charge nurse experience is preferredNot accepting local candidates for ICU rolesPerm or PRN employees of this health system must be gone at least 12 months before reapplying as a traveler\n Benefits\n
