Description
POSITION SUMMARY :
We are seeking a devoted and compassionate individual to work as the KHS Assistant Veterinary Operations Manager or AVOM alongside our Veterinary Operations Manager (VOM) to support our Vet Services department. KHS's AVOM will report directly to the VOM assisting with supervision of daily workflow and staff. This position will be directly responsible for overseeing the Customer Service function of our veterinary team, ensuring efficient, compassionate and direct communication with all our community clients and partners. Additional AVOM responsibilities will include assisting with the following : preparing the surgery list, scheduling low cost spay / neuter and emergency low-cost surgery, record keeping, financial reconciliation and processes, and assisting with direct care of clients and patients when required. Our AVOM must be efficient at time management and able to thrive in a high volume, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. This position may include some weekends.
JOB REQUIREMENTS :
- An interest in and willingness to support the mission, vision, and philosophy of KHS
- At least 1-year previous leadership experience in animal welfare or veterinary customer service
- Efficiently and tactfully works well in both a team and self-directed environment
- Works well under pressure, efficient at multitasking, able to meet multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines
- Ability to safely work with animals of various temperaments in a high-volume environment
- Must present a good appearance and have the ability to deal cheerfully and tactfully with the public, staff and volunteers with a consistent positive mental attitude Must be skilled and able to handle conflict resolution Meticulous and methodical attention to record keeping and reporting
- Ability to have a flexible schedule to meet needs of our community and patients
- Willingness to become certified in assisting with and performing humane euthanasia as well as receive cross training in other sub departments to better support departmental growth
- Lift 50 lbs or more
Requirements
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but not limited to) :
Responsible for ensuring efficient, compassionate, direct communication for customer service representative (CSR) team, clients, and all KHS departmentsDevelopment and review of SOPs for CSR and public facing functions of the Veterinary Lifesaving Center (VLC)Working with the CSR, clinic and surgery teams to schedule community clinic and surgical appointmentsAssisting the Veterinary Operations Manager with additional duties as needed to ensure efficient workflowWorking with surgery staff to help coordinate surgical schedulingWork with finance and CSR team on daily and monthly reconciliationResponsible for training / cross-training staff for CSR role at the VLCOther duties as they ariseHOURS, WAGES, BENEFITS
Full Time with the option of 4 x 10 hours or 5 x 8 hours.
