Position Overview : The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing the intake of all truck deliveries, ensuring that incoming parts meet quality standards and are accurately received into the ERP system, managing MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) purchases, executing cycle counts, and improving the overall accuracy of Legends stated inventory. They will track metrics for cycle count accuracy and work closely with Material Handlers and production team to improve inventory processes. Additionally, they will investigate discrepancies related to parts consumption by production personnel, BOM (Bill of Materials) issues, parts department transactions. When issues arise, this position will develop a plan of action to correct the issue and execute corrective actions.
Receiving and Inspection :
- Check in trucks and deliveries, ensuring all parts and materials received are accurate and meet quality standards.
- Record and process received parts into the ERP system with precision.
- Collaborate with the purchasing department to resolve any discrepancies in deliveries or quality issues.
- Communicate accordingly to production leaders to minimize impacts of issue on overall production goals.
Inventory Management and Cycle Counting :
Perform regular physical inventory (Cycle Counts) checks and reconciling discrepancies.Track and report on cycle count accuracy metrics, identify areas for improvement, develop action plans for corrections, and execute improvements.Work directly with material handlers and production team to enhance cycle count accuracy through collaboration and training.Investigate and resolve issues related to parts consumption on the production floor, collaborating with production teams to improve processes.Identify and address BOM discrepancies thru partnership with BOM Specialist(s), ensuring BOM accuracy for trailers in production.MRO / Office Purchasing :
Handle all MRO / Office purchasing, ensuring the availability of essential parts and supplies for production, maintenance, and office needs.Work with suppliers and internal teams to manage lead times and inventory levels efficiently.Negotiate, and / or shop, opportunities to create savings for LegendWarehouse Organization :
Ensure proper organization of warehouse space, making parts easily accessible to production teams.Maintain clean, safe, and organized warehouse areas.With partnership from production leaders, implement updates to our storage locations and practices to increase efficiency for the organization.Collaboration and Reporting :
Collaborate with production, material handlers, and management teams to resolve issues and improve processes.Prepare reports on inventory accuracy, cycle count metrics, and resolutions implemented to enhance accuracy. These reports will be reviewed on a regular basis by management.Periodically update senior leadership on the status of current activities, analysis of issues, and status of actions being taken to improve overall results.Qualifications :
Experience with ERP systems and inventory management software.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of BOMs, MRO purchasing, and inventory control practices.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially in working with material handlers and production team.Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.Results oriented mindsetPreferred Experience :
