We are seeking a dedicated professional to deliver exceptional patient care in a cutting-edge facility that is recognized as a Level IV Trauma Center. Our hospital accommodates around 16,500 patients annually through our Emergency Room, offering a wide array of services including Intensive Care, Medical Surgical, and Rehabilitation Services.
Summary :
As a Registered Professional Dialysis Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing safe, quality patient care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will collaborate in creating individualized care plans and deliver compassionate care throughout the entire dialysis treatment process, which includes pre- and post-treatment assessments as well as administering prescribed medications.
You will also ensure the effective operation of dialysis equipment and supplies in compliance with hospital policies while minimizing waste and optimizing resource use. Your accurate and timely documentation will reflect patient outcomes and uphold resource management standards, contributing to high-quality dialysis care.
Responsibilities :
- Meet expectations outlined in the OneCHRISTUS Competencies framework.
- Demonstrate proper hygiene practices including hand sanitization and PPE usage, while maintaining cleanliness in work areas.
- Operate dialysis equipment safely and effectively, documenting all necessary patient outcomes and changes.
- Conduct thorough pre- and post-dialysis assessments including vital signs, patient weight, and fluid removal calculations.
- Obtain lab specimens as directed and follow strict protocols for testing and treatment.
- Initiate, monitor, and conclude each dialysis session in accordance with established guidelines.
- Respond to complications and technical issues per organizational procedures.
- Administer medications during treatment, following all necessary protocols.
- Facilitate patient transport for dialysis to ensure timely care.
- Contribute to individualized care plans for each patient.
- Conduct safety checks for dialysis treatments and maintain equipment integrity.
- Accurately enter charges for provided care and ensure complete documentation.
- Manage time effectively to maintain efficient workflow.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements : Education / Skills
Minimum of an Associate's degree in nursing is required.Bachelor's degree in Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.Experience
1 year of dialysis experience is essential.1 year of acute clinical experience as a registered nurse is preferred.Experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Critical Care Unit (CCU), Emergency Room (ER), or Medical Surgical (Med Surg) units is desirable.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
RN license in the state of employment or compact is required.BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are mandatory, with PALS required specifically for CHRISTUS Children's Hospital.In alignment with the CHRISTUS Health License, Certification and Registration Verification Policy, all Associates must obtain necessary certifications timely.
