A leading medical device organization is seeking a Scientist to join its Microbiology Department. This company specializes in the development of rapid antimicrobial susceptibility testing systems designed to improve patient care. The Scientist will play a pivotal role in supporting laboratory operations, executing study protocols, and contributing to the readiness of products for commercial launch.
Key Responsibilities :
Conduct microbiological testing to support study protocols, including evaluation of instrumentation, antibiotic panels, and related consumables
Analyze and interpret experimental data in a timely and accurate manner
Draft laboratory instructions, reports, and documentation in alignment with industry standards
Prepare weekly summaries of laboratory activities and progress
Perform standard microbiological procedures such as bacterial culture, preparation of stocks, and identification
Handle and dispose of biohazard materials in accordance with OSHA and biosafety protocols
Maintain a clean and organized laboratory space
Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards, including FDA, ISO 13485, and internal quality systems
Perform other duties as needed to support laboratory functions
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, or a related field
At least one year of hands-on laboratory experience, preferably in a BSL-2 setting
Proficiency in microbiology techniques, including aseptic handling, pipetting, plating, and media preparation
Familiarity with bacterial susceptibility testing is strongly preferred
Knowledge of good laboratory and documentation practices (GLP / GDocP)
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality
Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities in a dynamic environment
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
