Residential Counselor

The Salvation Army Addiction Treatment Services (ATS) is seeking to fill a full-time Residential Substance Use Disorder Counselor position. Under the supervision of the Residential Clinical Supervisor, the Residential Counselor will provide individual counseling, conduct addiction group counseling, skills building sessions, and alcohol / drug education classes. The counselor will also implement residential program activities and supervise residents. Qualifications include certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or an advanced clinical degree in human services, such as a master's in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, or social work. Candidates without CSAC must be willing to work toward certification within two years. Two years of direct experience in substance use disorder treatment is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to develop effective treatment plans, perform discharge planning, and produce discharge summaries.
