Job Description
As a Tableau Developer, you will use data and visual analytics to provide valuable insights and solutions to our clients. Your tasks include creating technical solutions, developing data storage tools, and conducting rigorous testing to ensure the reliability of Tableau dashboards and reports. To excel in this role, you should have a solid understanding of the business technology landscape, the ability to create impactful reports, and strong analytical skills. While you will mainly work on team supporting an external project for a client in the public sector, you may also support projects internal to the company.
The Tableau Developer will :
Develop and maintain interactive and visually appealing Tableau dashboards and reports.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data requirements.
Design and implementing data models and ETL processes to prepare data for analysis in Tableau.
Create data visualizations, charts, and graphs to communicate insights and trends.
Troubleshoot issues with Tableau reports and ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
Keep up-to-date with Tableau best practices, updates, and new features to enhance reporting capabilities.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in Tableau development, dashboard design, and data visualization.
Expertise in advanced Tableau features, including LOD expressions, table calculations, data blending, and performance tuning.
Strong proficiency in SQL for querying, optimizing, and transforming large datasets.
Experience working with data warehouses (Redshift preferred).
Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments.
Knowledge of ETL tools (dbt preferred) and data transformation methodologies.
Experience integrating Tableau with APIs, cloud platforms, and third-party data sources.
Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate data-driven insights effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Python or R for data analytics.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and their data services.
Understanding of machine learning and predictive analytics (a plus).
Experience in performance tuning of SQL queries and Tableau dashboards for enterprise use.
Experience working with the federal government on data visualization or analytics projects.
Additional information
U.S. work authorization required.
Security Requirements : Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance (i.e. must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident who has resided in the US for the past three years consecutively)
Must be willing to operate in a hybrid environment, including work in person at a client site in the DC Metro area and at the Rios Partners office in Arlington, VA as needed (final schedule determined by team and project)

The total amount of Profit-Sharing / Performance Bonus distributed to the team may vary year to year and will depend on numerous factors, including market conditions, company performance, and individual performance.
Retirement plan : Rios Partners offers a 401(k) and contributes an amount equivalent to 3% of the employees base salary each month to the designated fund. Employees may choose to contribute additional money into the 401(k) from their paycheck each month. The plan is administered through Fidelity.

Disability insurance : Rios Partners will pay 100% of the premium for both short-term and long-term disability insurance provided through MetLife.
Paid Time Off (PTO) and holidays : You will be eligible for three weeks of PTO (15 days) with an additional PTO based on service time as well as 12 paid holidays each year. In addition to accrued PTO, Rios Partners provides additional time off for both expected and unexpected events (e.g., Bereavement Leave, Jury Duty, Voting).
Maternity, Paternity, and Adoption Leave : Rios Partners celebrates employees choice to become parents. We are also aware that pregnancy and caring for an infant or a newly adopted child may cause additional life complexities. As such, we provide employees twelve (12) weeks of paid leave in association with the birth of an employees own child or the placement of a child with the employee in connection with adoption or foster care. To be eligible for Maternity / Paternity / Adoption Leave Program, team members must : 1) Have worked at Rios Partners full-time for a minimum of 12 continuous months. 2) Be in good employment standing with Rios Partners (i.e., not on probation). 3) Request leave a minimum of 30 days in advance if possible. If this is not possible, please place your request as soon as possible once you become aware of it.
