The Test Engineer will be responsible to support the testing environment for Garrett products throughout the life cycle.
Essential Functions
- Assist in writing test specifications for new products based on customer requirements and the expected capabilities of the product.
- Specify test methods and maintain test results.
- Perform hands-on testing and when appropriate and coordinate in-house and third-party testing.
- Work with design engineers to support testing during the product development phase.
- Coordinate in-house and third-party testing of first production products.
- Assist in the development of test procedures and equipment needed to support production.
- Maintain a library of product test results and certifications to support the sales department in responding to RFQ and bid responses; assist with responses and update the library information when needed.
- Maintain knowledge of the function and performance characteristics of products to provide technical support at customer demonstrations and / or during agency testing.
- Be knowledgeable and keep current with regulatory requirements of countries where products are sold.
- Develop test methods to characterize the performance of competitive products to use for benchmarking Garrett products and to provide comparative information to marketing and sales.
- Perform regression testing on software and firmware releases.
- Train, mentor, and support test technicians.
- Ensure operations adhere to laws, guidelines, ISO requirements.
- Complies with safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report unsafe activities to supervisor and / or Human Resources.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in test engineering or a related discipline.Special Skills & Qualifications :
Systems test experience with good understanding of execution of test programs.Ability to learn new products and support setup and launch of test operationsStrong knowledge of test methodologies, tools, and software.Ability to demonstrate proficiency in data analysis, statistical methods, and performance evaluation.Previous experience / training in "technical writing"Working knowledge of networking setup, TCP / IP a plusAbility to understand the functional and technical aspects of products to ensure clarity and accuracy.Ability to communicate technical materials to professional and consumer readers as appropriate.9. Excellent problem-solving, are detail-oriented, and possess excellent organizational skills.
10. Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
