General Summary
- Provides administrative and budgetary support for the supervisor and the department.
Major Duties
Uses word-processing and spreadsheet software to produce and edit letters, memos, reports, statistical tables and other documents.Answers non-routine questions regarding the department. Refers questions as needed.Explains departmental policies and procedures.Monitors, tracks and reconciles a budget(s). Prepare budget reports and may recommend allocations.Maintains a database : verifies, updates, and enters data.Schedules appointments and coordinates meetings; makes travel arrangements.Monitors and orders departmental supplies.Typically, engages in some office management and / or project work.May provide guidance and direction to student employees.May update the content of the department's website.Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.One year's relevant experience.Proficiency with word-processing and spreadsheet software.Experience with query databases and budget entry and tracking.Desired Qualifications
