Job Title : Physical Therapist Profession : Physical Therapist Specialty : - Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Day Hours per Shift : 7 : 30 AM - 4 : 30 PM, Monday - Friday Experience : Previous experience in an approved medical facility preferred License : Current license or eligibility to be licensed as a Physical Therapist in the State of New York Certifications : BLS Certification required Must-Have : - Graduate of an accredited school of physical therapy with a bachelor's degree or equivalent - Previous experience beyond outpatient physical therapy, including ergonomic evaluation, OSHA training, or performing functional capacity assessments Description : Ensures Physical Therapy services are administered and completed in a timely, accurate, and reliable manner. Provides physical therapy evaluations and treatments, as well as associated clinical documentation. Maintains specific service delivery standards that address commitment to service and customer satisfaction. Engages in ongoing evaluation of customer expectations and integration with quality processes. Adheres to communication and interaction standards, turn-around time, and information processing standards. Meets corporate compliance requirements and maintains the physical environment of care. Assesses patient strengths, limitations, and needs using standardized measurement, prediction, and evaluation tests. Develops and implements individualized short- and long-term treatment goals based on patient assessments. Administers and interprets clinical physical therapy services, adjusting treatment plans based on patient response. Maintains accurate and timely patient treatment records, documenting progress and changes in electronic health systems. Ensures all documentation meets reimbursement and regulatory agency requirements, completed within two business days. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members. Participates in patient care conferences and collaborates with other healthcare professionals for coordinated care. Provides education to patients and families regarding treatment plans, safety, and self-care techniques. Participates in discharge planning and makes appropriate referrals, coordinating with vendors for durable medical equipment. Supervises and provides direction to Physical Therapist Assistants during treatment sessions. Maintains licensure requirements and pursues continuing education to stay current with professional standards. Engages in departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of care. Primary focus is on injury prevention and early intervention, returning workers to work quicker, and implementing work hardening routines. Typical day involves rounding warehouse floors, seeing patients, connecting with HR business partners, and conducting follow-ups in a clinical setting. Occasional travel required for meetings.
