Job Summary

Junipero Serra High School, a Catholic college preparatory school in Gardena, CA, seeks an English teacher for the 2025-2026 academic year. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player with strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills. Responsibilities include teaching AP English Language and Literature, developing engaging curriculum, using diverse teaching strategies, and integrating 21st-century skills. Candidates should be committed to educating the whole child-mind and spirit-while supporting the school's mission.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Teach high school English using an inquiry-based approach.
  • Utilize varied assessments to track student learning.
  • Develop and submit curriculum plans and final grades on time.
  • Maintain an orderly, supportive classroom environment.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, counselors, and colleagues.
  • Update Gradebook weekly and integrate technology in instruction.

Qualifications :

  • Commitment to faith-based education.
  • Knowledge of Common Core Standards.
  • Experience with curriculum development and student data analysis preferred.
