Clinician - Early Relational Health, Residential

Under the supervision of the Director of Early Relational Health the Clinician- Early Relational Health is responsible for all relationship- based clinical care of residents in their assigned program(s). The Clinician- Early Relational Health completes relationship-based assessments and utilizes data to select trauma-informed therapeutic interventions of parent / child (ages 0-5) dyads. Additionally, the Clinician - Early Relational Health will operate as a member of a larger interdisciplinary treatment team in the provision of clinical and program services. The Clinician - Early Relational Health will promote the use of Brazelton Touchpoints, as well as the Attachment, Regulation, and Competency framework (ARC) and other relationally-based interventions in all activities with the goal of sustaining a safe and therapeutic environment for families in the program.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS :

1.) Perform all duties and demonstrate behaviors and attitudes consistent with the Mission Statement and Core Values of the organization.

2.) Continually participate in building and maintaining positive working relationships through effective communication, performance improvement and teamwork efforts.

3.) Be of good character and reputation; sufficient physical, mental, and emotional health to satisfactorily perform her or his job duties.

4.) Actively participate in safety programs of the organization by identifying potential risks and promoting resident safety as well as environmental safety.

5.) Accomplish individual and team goals and objectives established by supervisor based on prior performance evaluation.

6.) Comply with HIPAA guidelines regarding resident rights and confidentiality.

7.) Comply with documentation and training set forth by Human Resources.

8.) Actively participate in CGE's clinical research efforts by ensuring accurate and timely completion and reporting for all assessments and evaluations.

CLINICAL DUTIES :

  • Conduct assessments of assigned residential parent / child dyads to lead to diagnostic impression, case conceptualization, individualized treatment plans, and recommendations for the development of early relational health interventions.
  • Provide dyadic and group treatment interventions, as indicated, appropriate for parents and children with relational / attachment problems in residential programs.
  • Provide childbirth preparation, written birth plans, labor and postpartum care and support to pregnant and postpartum residents in residential programs to prepare and support them in newborn care.
  • Provide family sessions as appropriate to client progress and indicated by treatment plan.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation relevant to child monitoring and feeding, according to program requirements. Communicate relevant information to necessary staff for follow-up interventions.
  • Provide timely documentation for all clinical assessments, individual, dyadic and group sessions, treatment goal development and progress, collateral communication, crisis intervention, and contribute to discharge summaries and communication to external stakeholders.
  • Assist residents with parenting in community settings as appropriate.
  • Prepare residents for appropriate discharge upon completion of the program and make referrals for ongoing parental support as needed.
  • Address immediate parenting concerns and highlight strengths as they arise.
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed.
  • Prepare and deliver oral and written case presentations to the treatment team and appropriate professional agencies as indicated.
  • Assist with the coaching and training of Residential Associates to attune and respond to the unique needs of each mother and child(ren) to collaborate, create, and implement individualized plans to meet family's needs.
  • Flexibility for rotating on-call duties with ability to respond and provide support.

GENERAL DUTIES :

  • Maintain records as required by organization policies and regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Maintain compliance with organizational and regulatory agencies policies and standards.
  • Participate in program, committee and clinical staff meetings as indicated.
  • Participate in program evaluation and ongoing quality improvement efforts.
  • Participate in clinical training programs as indicated.
  • Build a network of support within the program and among residents that focuses on trust, well-being and social / community integration.
  • Work as a member of a team to establish and maintain a high level of care and respect for, and communication with residents.
  • Work in a consistently professional manner at all times, which includes, but is not limited to, treating all residents, staff, guests, and volunteers with dignity and respect.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
  • Requirements

    MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :

  • Master's degree in counseling, education, social work, or related field.
  • LSW, LAC, LCSW, or LPC required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with adults / adolescents, mental health disorders, and residential settings. Understanding of a trauma-informed approach to addiction.
  • Post graduate education / certification in ERH or related field preferred.
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish) speaking preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to be flexible to the daily changing needs within the community and to handle obstacles with compassion and resolve.
  • Current NJ driver's license; will be required to meet safe driving requirements.

    $68,000 per year
