About the Role
As Dementia Care Activities Specialist , you will play a vital role in enriching the lives of residents living with advanced dementia. This hands-on position focuses on delivering personalized, meaningful activities that foster emotional well-being, cognitive engagement, and social connection. Working as part of our Memory Care team, you'll provide one-on-one attention and creative engagement to promote comfort, familiarity, and joy for each resident in your care.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and facilitate individualized activities tailored to residents needs, preferences, and abilities.
Build meaningful relationships through consistent, empathetic, and respectful interactions.
Engage residents using sensory, music, art, and reminiscence-based activities.
Document resident participation and communicate observations to the care team.
Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and other departments to support individualized care plans.
Maintain a calm, supportive presence to reduce distress or confusion using redirection and reassurance techniques.
Ensure activity spaces remain safe, organized, and welcoming.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience working with seniors and / or individuals with dementia in a residential or care setting.
Understanding of person-centered care principles.
Background or interest in arts, crafts, exercise, or event planning preferred.
Patience, empathy, and a passion for improving the quality of life for older adults.
Dementia care certification or specialized training a plus.

Schedule : Saturdays & Sundays, 9 : 30 a.m. 5 : 15 p.m.
Pay : $18 / hour or more, depending on experience.
