Travel Nurse RN - Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) / Pre-Post Op - $2,372 per week in Saint Louis, MO

Four 10-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, 12 : 00 PM to 10 : 30 PM, with rotating start times as needed. The average daily census is between 70 to 90 patients. The unit consists of 38 patient bays and is open 24 / 7. Staff will be needed for the recovery of a vast array of acute post-operative patients. Critical care experience is required as some patients may require artificial airways and invasive monitoring. Surgical patients may include those from neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant surgeries. Open heart surgeries and liver transplants are not recovered in this unit. Night shift staff must learn how to work up a pre-operative patient. All travelers will float within the service line to meet facility needs. Patient population includes adults, occasional adolescents, and geriatric patients in a Level 1 trauma center. Experience with drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia is required. High acuity patients make up 80% of the patient population. Preoperative workup includes a multitude of surgical services. EKG rhythm analysis, transfusion capabilities, and IV starting experience are required. Interviewing will include screening for required skills and level 1 trauma ICU experience. Please ensure all qualifications are met prior to application submission.
