A rapidly growing leader in the property and casualty insurance sector is seeking an accomplished IT Director to lead a transformative period of modernization and innovation. This role will serve as the right hand to the President of the insurance division, directly influencing technology strategy and implementation across both agency and claims operations. With the companys stock performance reaching all-time highs and major growth plans underway, this is a high-impact opportunity to make key decisions that will shape the future of the business.

This position will be based in San Antonio, TX, and will involve travel approximately one week per month to Texas to connect with a subsidiary team and gain deep familiarity with core operations. Youll take ownership of infrastructure, compliance, systems selection and integration, and serve as the strategic driver of tech-enabled growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technology leader for the insurance division, driving day-to-day management and long-term strategy for IT operations.
• Lead governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) initiatives including SOX and IT General Controls, ensuring strong cybersecurity and audit readiness across platforms.
• Manage and mentor a growing team of IT professionals, including a manager and data analyst, with plans for future expansion.
• Spearhead enterprise-level software transitions including RFPs, vendor selection, and phased implementation of a new policy and billing system.
• Guide change management strategies and user adoption plans for new systems and digital tools.
• Partner with executive leadership to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions that align with company goals.
• Oversee performance metrics, departmental KPIs, and vendor relationships to ensure measurable outcomes and delivery of value.
• Stay ahead of industry trends in insurtech, evaluating and recommending new solutions across digital claims processing, agency systems, and analytics.
• Actively participate in business continuity planning and disaster recovery strategies.
• Maintain and enhance information security posture, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders on audits, periodic access reviews, and system risk assessments.
• Regularly present key technology initiatives and status updates to leadership teams and cross-functional partners.
