Summary :
As a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse in the Endoscopy GI Surgery unit, you will work autonomously in a dynamic clinical environment, providing both routine and specialized care to patients. Your expertise will help you navigate complex clinical situations, manage patient care effectively, and develop long-term care plans.
Responsibilities :

- Adhere to the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice by delivering nursing care through the complete nursing process : assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for your assigned patients.
- Address the intricate psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols, monitoring for side effects and treatment efficacy.
- Meticulously document patient histories, symptoms, administered medications, and care rendered.
- Evaluate patient education needs and provide guidance to patients, families, and caregivers, while identifying relevant issues and resources.
Job Requirements : Education / Skills :
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.Experience :
Preferred : 1 year of experience in a relevant nursing specialty.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications :
BLS certification required.RN License in the state of employment or compact license.Position Requirements :

All newly hired experienced RNs must complete New Nurses Orientation within their first 30 days of employment.New hires will be paired with a designated preceptor for onboarding, followed by successful completion of organizational entry competency validation and department-specific competency validation.Complete all annual competency verification requirements.Experience :
Preferred : Successful completion of Perioperative RN Residency or experience in an OR / Perioperative setting.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications :
Current ACLS certification required.Current PALS or ENPC certification required for positions at CHILDREN'S facilities only.In accordance with CHRISTUS Health's licensing and certification policy, all associates must acquire necessary certifications within the designated timeframe.
Credential Grace Periods :
Experienced Associates with at least one year of acute care in a similar service line within three years will have a grace period for additional credentials.Associates without the required experience will be classified as Experienced Associates New to the Specialty.Work Schedule : 4 Days - 10 Hours
