Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiac Cath Lab provides direct patient care to a diverse population undergoing a variety of cardiac catheterization procedures. The RN collaborates with physicians, other nurses, and technicians to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of high-quality patient care. This role requires strong critical thinking skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Prepares patients for cardiac catheterization procedures, including obtaining informed consent, assessing vital signs, and administering medications as ordered.

Assists the physician during the procedure, including monitoring hemodynamic parameters, preparing equipment, and managing supplies.

Provides post-procedure care, including monitoring vital signs, assessing for complications, and administering medications.

Maintains a sterile field and adheres to strict infection control protocols.

Operates and monitors specialized equipment, including hemodynamic monitoring systems, fluoroscopy, and other related technologies.

Administers medications and intravenous fluids as ordered.

Documents patient care accurately and completely in the electronic medical record (EMR).

Participates in quality improvement initiatives and contributes to the development of departmental policies and procedures.

Responds effectively to emergency situations and provides critical care as needed.

Collaborates effectively with other members of the healthcare team.

Maintains current knowledge of cardiac catheterization procedures and related technologies.

Participates in continuing education and professional development activities.

Adheres to all hospital policies and procedures.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

We require :

Current WA State RN license is required.

1 or more years recent RN experience with acute care patients.

CPR certification is required every two years or as specified by the work.

Other certifications may be required for specialty areas.

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing.

Preferred Qualifications : ACLS preferred.

Pay Range

$47.12 - $79.59 / hour
