Traveling Superintendent

The Superintendent will be responsible for the daily onsite field management and execution of the daily activities associated with heavy civil, DOT, and rail projects. This individual will also coordinate the daily work activities, including scheduling of labor, equipment, vendors and subcontractors. This position works directly with the Project Manager on completing the project safely, on schedule and within budget. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with estimating, purchasing, accounting and project management on all aspects of project start-up and preconstruction planning
- Monitor project schedule and daily production goals
- Schedule labor for all field jobs, track and approve hours for payroll, communicate and enforce policies / procedures, and approve time-off requests
- Coordinate site personnel assignment of work
- Execute on contractual requirements and obligations
- Work with Site Safety Director to manage the site safety program
- Discuss project problems with Project Managers and assist in finding resolution
- Monitor expenses to ensure budget compliance
- Track inventory of supplies and materials,
- Prepare and submit required reports detailing employee and equipment hours, completed quantities, and other activities
- Assist with all aspects of project close out
- Other duties as assigned
- Must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent required (Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred).At least 10 years industry experience, with at least 3 of those years working in a supervisory capacity.Combination of equivalent education and work experience may be considered REQUIREMENTS :
Experience working on heavy civil and / or DOT projects.Strong analytical skills.Detail oriented, and good organization skills.Ability to communicate well with others, both written and orally.Proficient in Computer applications such as Microsoft and time reporting systems.Prior experience working with a union workforce.Ability to travel up to 100% of the timeMust be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future
