Shift : 10 hour shifts, 9 : 30am - 8 : 00pm
Disclosure : New Graduates may be interviewed and hired prior to the completion of a Radiologic Technology program. Must have ARRT (Radiology) certification and California Certification in Radiologic Technology and Fluoroscopy prior to patient care (within 6 months).
PATIENT POPULATION :
The patient population served can be all patients, including geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and newborn. This also includes services which affect facility staff, physicians, visitors, vendors and the general public.
POSITION SUMMARY :
Under the direction of the Administrative Director of Imaging and Physical Therapy, Radiology Director, and in consultation with the Medical Director, the Radiology Tech performs professional duties involved in a variety of technical procedures to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for Radiologic diagnosis, with latitude for independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative. Responsible for patient care, comfort and completion of required procedures. Is responsible for the assessment, treatment or care appropriate to the ages of the patients served. Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient's needs. Possesses knowledge of growth and development and has an understanding of the range of treatment needed for all patient groups. Must maintain the department in compliance with rules and regulations set forth by governing agencies.
Responsible for various clerical and Quality Assurance duties as assigned.
May be assigned to work in other Imaging modalities. Must follow AIDET and accepts reassignments and additional duties, when necessary, in a flexible and positive manner. Must maintain the department in compliance with rules and regulations set forth by governing agencies. On call responsibilities required. If Technologist is trained in multiple modalities, (C.T., M.R.I., Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Diagnostic Radiology), on call responsibilities will be assumed for two (2) of the aforementioned modalities during the call period. Example : (Ultrasound / Nuclear medicine or C.T. / Radiography).
Must be able to work normal / scheduled working hours to include Holidays, call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call. Agrees to participate, as directed, in emergencies and community disasters during scheduled and unscheduled hours. As a designated disaster service worker you are required to assist in times of need pursuant to the California Emergency Services Act.

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONS :
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have and maintain :
1. Current licensure as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist in the state of California.
2. Fluoroscopy Permit from the state of California or obtain one within 6 months of date of hire.
3. The individual must have ARRT certification in Radiography or obtain ARRT certification in Radiography within 6 months of date of hire.
4. Must have and maintain current BLS certification or obtain within orientation process, prior to hands-on patient care.
5. IV certification is preferred.
