Summary

You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Salary Range :

GS-11 : $77,192 - $100,344

GS-10 : $70,257 - $91,331

    Duties

  • You will act as a liaison for the Engineering Planning Department to ensure compliance with all technical specifications and standards.
  • You will be responsible for the resolution of quality technical material issues for controlled and non-controlled material.
  • You will adjudicate technical material ordering problems.
  • You will interpret technical requirements, define procedures and validate methods for planning, delivery and the execution of the material to support the Navy's special and controlled material programs.
  • You will evaluate test results and requirements, troubleshoot, fabricate, adjust, modify and improve manufacturing processes and contract requirements for material.
  • You will monitor work for compliance to technical and contract requirements.
  • You will review Job Material Lists to ensure timely procurement of all controlled and non-controlled material for the Shipyard Non-Nuclear work.
  • You will advise project engineers and technicians of material requirements to meet the required specifications.
  • You will submit Product Quality Deficiency Reports for quality deficient material for investigation and adjudication.
  • You will provide for the review of vendor certifications, test reports, and Certificates of Conformance, resolution of RIDL resolutions, and JML reviews.

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You must be willing and able to work onboard ships.
  • You must be willing and able to use protective clothing and gear and observe safety precautions.

    Qualifications

    GS-11 :

    Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-10) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following : advising project engineers and technicians of material requirements by reviewing technical engineering test reports, certificates of conformance or Job Material Lists to resolve material deficiencies and ensure compliance in support of the repair, maintenance and overhaul of naval ships and submarines.

    GS-10 :

    Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following : providing technical engineering support by analyzing technical engineering material requirements to identify material deficiencies and ensure compliance in support of the repair, maintenance and overhaul of naval ships and submarines.
