Certified Peer Support Worker

Our Women's Shelter team is GROWING!! We are searching for Certified Peer Support Workers to join the team. We have a variety of shifts available : day, evening and overnights. If you are passionate about serving our most vulnerable in a trauma-informed model, we can't wait to hear from you!

SCHEDULES

• Days : 6 : 30AM-3PM
• Evenings : 2 : 30PM-11PM
• Overnights : 7PM-3 : 30AM

All schedules may include weekends and are subject to change to support program needs as appropriate.

OBJECTIVE AND POSITION SUMMARY

The Certified Peer Support Worker (CPSW) provides leadership and support to the Housing Support Specialist team at Women’s Housing Navigation shelter. This role ensures the consistent delivery of high-quality, client-centered housing support services, including Rapid Rehousing and Transitional Housing programs. The CPSW will serve as a lead and coordinates day-to-day operations, assists with complex cases, fosters team development, and oversees some administrative functions such as reporting, compliance tracking, proper documentation, and communication with leadership.

This position promotes trauma-informed practices, upholds shelter standards, and supports clients' transition to permanent housing through direct service and team leadership. They are integral to ensuring the shelter environment remains safe, trauma-informed, and client-centered.  Using their personal experience to offer empathy, understanding, and guidance to clients, the CPSW is a role model and mentor, empowering clients to advocate for their needs and rights within the behavorial health system and achieve their recovery goals. They have a variety of responsibilities, including, but not limited to :

Performing direct service work when needed to cover shifts or urgent client needs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

Education / Background :

Must be CPSW through a recognized program, such as the New Mexico Certified Peer Support Worker training program
