The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
Reporting directly to the ACP of Engineering in the CUMC Facilities Department, this position will provide direction and oversight to the Universities, "Statement of Good Repair" in addition to leading the controls engineering staff in support of the university's efforts toward retro commissioning, energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
Responsibilities
We are seeking a Director of Facilities Engineering who will be responsible for executing successful strategies to implement the universities Statement of Good Repair (SOGR) Program. Building systems that will be supported will include but will not be limited to, mechanical, electrical, fire / life safety, and elevators.
They will manage the SOGR Engineering responsibilities through all facets of design, planning, construction, and maintenance of equipment, buildings, and other facilities.

Ultimately, the Director will ensure that our building infrastructure meets the needs of our employees, enables productivity, and aligns with the University's Mission and strategic goals.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for facilities projects
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and industry codes
Manage project budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness
Maintain accurate records of the condition of the equipment and other systems in the building
Create a plan for equipment procurement and maintenance
Project management experience
Budgeting experience and analytical skills
Strong negotiation skills
Understanding of laws and regulations along with the willingness to keep up with changes
Familiarity with construction, architecture, and various systems, such as HVAC, plumbing and electrical
Leadership and interpersonal skills

Minimum Qualifications
This position requires an undergraduate degree in engineering or related field with 5 years of experience in HVAC, Controls, and systems efficiency improvement projects
Physical Requirements : Candidate must be able to inspect mechanical systems throughout the university that may be accessed by ladders or within confined spaces. Candidate must be able to hear and see emergencies with within mechanical spaces and able to inspect all work throughout the university.
