The Field Territory Manager is an individual contributor responsible for driving strategic priorities, managing new and renewal business, and ensuring customer success within an assigned territory. This role serves as the primary relationship leader and point of contact for distribution partners, promoting the company’s brand and creating awareness of products, services, and solutions. The Field Territory Manager leads premium growth and retention strategies, collaborates with underwriting to analyze risk, and evaluate business impact based on overall account and agency relationship, and consider the bigger picture to identify creative solutions that deliver value to GuideOne. The Territory Manager also works to improve overall portfolio and account performance. In alignment with GuideOne’s distribution strategy, the Territory Manager executes geographic distribution strategies, production planning, broker engagement, and pipeline development.
Responsibilities : Customer Success
- Serve as the main point of contact for distribution partners, building trusted relationships.
- Maintain visibility to distribution partners through in-person visits, virtual meetings and consist calls and emails.
- Manage day-to-day client success and sales activities.
- Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries, ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Position GuideOne as a lead carrier for focus niches.
- Act as a subject matter expert on company products and services.
- Provide proactive outreach to promote GuideOne.
Distribution Management
Execute business development strategies for the assigned territory.Utilize CRM and reporting tools to monitor performance and share insights.Drive financial performance, exceeding premium and profitability goals.Monitor submission levels, hit ratios, and loss ratios.Conduct regular performance reviews with key partners.Develop annual territory plans and engagement strategies.Stay informed on competition, underwriting environment, and market conditions.Cultivate partnerships and recommend appointments or cancellations based on strategic value.Implement performance improvement plans for underperforming partners.Underwriting Support
Support underwriting in evaluating submissions and adhering to guidelines.Discuss pricing, terms, and conditions while maintaining risk quality with both UW and distribution partners.Collaborate on pipeline management and suggest solutions to promote products.Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.Professional designations (CIC, CPCU, ARM, P&C License) preferred.Minimum 7 years of commercial insurance territory management experience; underwriting experience preferred.Proven ability to build and deepen relationships with agencies, brokers, aggregators, and wholesalers.Strong understanding of sales and insurance practices.Experience developing engagement strategies and expanding distribution in new markets.In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance, preferably in non-profit, education, religious institutions, and small business niches.Demonstrated success in meeting business and profitability goals.Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to change.Overnight travel required, approximately 40-50%.Compensation :
