ER RN Travel Job Details

Location : Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Virginia healthcare jobs)

Facility : Level II Trauma Center Emergency Room

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (12 / 15 / 2025 – 3 / 14 / 2026)

Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM), every other weekend required

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1,780 - $1,910

Orientation Dates : 12 / 1 and 12 / 15 (Mondays)

Contract Type : Travel nursing contract

Emergency Room Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience in a similar size hospital

Experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center required

Prior travel nurse experience required

Active Virginia or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license (valid at time of submission)

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC (or equivalent trauma certification such as ATCN / TNCC / ATLC)

NIH Stroke Scale certification required

Cerner EMR experience highly preferred

All requested time off must be submitted with application

Local candidates within 60 miles are not eligible for this travel nursing job

ER RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to patients in a fast-paced ER setting

Assess, triage, and manage patients with acute and emergent medical conditions

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to clinical protocols

Accurately document patient care using Cerner EMR

Participate in trauma activations and respond to critical situations as needed

Maintain compliance with hospital policies, clinical standards, and regulatory requirements
