Employed Hospitalist Opening in Harlingen, TX- Night Shift

Valley Baptist Physician Network are seeking Hospitalists to join our team! Come and enjoy year-round semi-tropical temperatures while making a big impact in the community!

Highlights :

• Full-time, employed opportunity based out of Valley Baptist Medical Center - Harlingen
• Shift based and does not include call; work 7 days on 7 days off back to back; holidays rotated
• Nocturnist hours  7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
• Currently, 1 full-time nocturnist and a NP on shift between 5 p.m. and 5 a.m.
• New model will consist of 2 Physicians-Nocturnists and 2 FNP's to manage the census in house, transfer center admissions
• Average 80-100 patients per shift
• Team covers all admissions at night (12-23 per night)
• Team responds to all calls from the floors at night (15-30)
• Typically, 1 resident available at night to help with up to 4 admissions
• Open ICU; however the Intensivist team does most of the procedures and responds to hospital codes
• Opportunity to teach internal medicine residents if desired
