Gilbane is seeking a Program Director to be the head of all project activities, holding overall accountability for the successful, congruent delivery of the program, with the primary objective of ensuring the integration of all construction project partners, systems, business structures, and practices. Responsibilities

Leadership :

  • Effectively convey the project's vision through appropriate communication methods.
  • Communicate ongoing, accurate, complete, and clear information to all stakeholders regarding changes and their implementation, from C-Suite to Project Engineer level.
  • Inspire the organization through both written and verbal messages, conveying information positively.
  • Create and maintain influential relations through effective communication.
  • Ensure alignment of communication, processes, resources, and systems across the project with vision and direction.
  • Diagnose knowledge, experience, skills, and behavior gaps affecting performance.
  • Foster collaboration across project teams and remove barriers to partnerships and teamwork.
  • Formulate clear decision criteria, evaluate options considering implications, and choose effective solutions.

  • Oversee all construction activities, ensuring operational strategies meet expectations.

  • Anticipate technical issues and provide expert advice on construction elements.
  • Commercial / Contractual :

  • Manage risk and control expenses to ensure profitability.
  • Hold overall responsibility for project P&L and financial reporting.
  • Qualifications

    Experience / Education :

  • BS or MS in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • LEED Accreditation highly preferred.
  • 25 years building construction experience, with experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities required.
  • Experience in top-level Integrated Project Delivery schemes.
  • Experience as Construction Manager at Risk & Design Build.
  • Experience in commercial and R&D projects.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

  • Flawless knowledge of Integrated Project Delivery philosophy and methods.
  • High technical construction acumen.
  • Strong business and decision-making skills.
  • Adept at leadership and communication styles for diverse teams.
  • Ability to understand the broad impact of decisions and direct stakeholders effectively.
  • Active listening and trust-building skills.

  • Salary will be determined based on education, experience, and market data, with a range in Illinois from $274,900-$335,900 plus benefits and retirement.
