About the Team

Our multidisciplinary group focuses on detecting and responding to attacks against the World ID service. The system relies on the Orb— a specialized hardware device that captures secure iris data—to provide Proof‑of‑Personhood. You will work closely with security, device hardware, and software teams to ensure the Orb and its future “Orb Mini” variants remain tamper‑resistant and trustworthy.

About the Role

You will design, implement, and monitor tamper‑detection mechanisms for the Orb and future devices. Responsibilities include :

• Leveraging the Orb’s sensor features to detect suspected tampering or other device‑level threats.
• Designing tamper‑detection and response strategies for a new generation of identity verification hardware.
• Collaborating cross‑functionally with hardware, embedded software, cloud infrastructure and incident‑response teams.
• Participating in on‑call rotation and incident handling as needed.
• Travel up to 20% with a preference for the Munich, Germany office.

The reasonably estimated salary for this role ranges from $221,000 – $250,000, plus a competitive long‑term incentive package. Additional benefits include health, dental, vision, 401(k) match, life insurance, flexible time off, commuter benefits, and professional development stipend.
