ICU Registered Nurse Job Details

Location : Muscatine, Iowa (Zip : 52761) – Iowa travel nursing jobs

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (12 / 15 / 2025 – 3 / 16 / 2026)

Healthcare Setting : Acute Care Unit (ICU, Med Surg, Telemetry)

Shift : 12-hour day shifts

Hours per Week : 36

Floating : Required to float within discipline across local campuses

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend

ICU RN Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent ICU, Med Surg, or Telemetry nursing experience

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa or Illinois

Certifications : ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS

Proficient in administering critical care medications (bipap, insulin, levophed, heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, nitro, dobutamine, propofol)

Ability to float within the same discipline as needed

Taxable address must be outside 50 miles from the facility (required for travel nursing jobs)

Submission of updated resume, skills checklist (completed within 1 year), license verification, required certifications, and at least one supervisory reference

Proof of taxable address (driver’s license, utility bill, lease / rental agreement, mortgage statement, insurance statement, voter registration, bank statement, auto insurance, or tax return)

ICU RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients in ICU, Med Surg, and Telemetry units

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care

Administer and monitor critical care medications and therapies

Float to other units within the same discipline as needed

Accurately document patient care and progress in the EPIC EMR system

Provide patient and family education and support

Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards

Work every other weekend and fulfill holiday requirements as assigned
